Unfortunately, the situation back home is worsening with the subsequent attacks of COVID-19 and Amphan cyclone. Considered to be the strongest storm in over a decade, it has left many people in dire circumstances without basic amenities such as food and shelter. The tropical storm has caused at least US$13.2 billion in damages and directly affected 70% of the population in the state of West Bengal. A majority of the affected population hail from rural regions who have lost beloved ones, source of income and homes. Many parts of West Bengal including the Sunderbans remain submerged. IBAM intends to extend a small gesture to help with this situation.
We oraganized a fundraiser to help West Bengal cope with the destruction left behind by the Amphan cyclone. We directed the funds towards Ramkrishna Mission charity offices. We are extremely happy to announce that the response from the community was great and we want to share our heartfelt gratitude to all of them who extended their helping hands in this crisis.
We would like to take the opportunity to thank all of you who have already contributed in particular and the community in general. This could have been possible only through your efforts.
