History of IBAM

Sushil Das came to Canada as a Commonwealth scholar and taught Electrical & Computer Engineering at Dawson college and Concordia . He still teaches one or two courses at Concordia to keep himself young.

A Montreal resident since 1975, he has seen the evolution of Montreal Bengali Association and been associated with its activities since inception. Always a part of Cultural, organizational and constitutional activities , he is readily available for consultation and active participation in IBAMs programs – be it drama or other funny performances. Young at heart, cherishes company of the young, enthusiastic friends of IBAM’s volunteers – because these young group of nice and energetic friends helps him realize that age is simply a number - and head or tail, IBAM’s show must go on with gusto for ever.

Every body’s Mitadi or Mita Masi. For over 40 years, she has been a perennial fixture of the association – she makes sure that the Association’s show must go on - no matter what. Organized the Association activities when it was in the crisis, steering Durga Puja or serving its President as demanded. She is a source of inspiration to friends of all ages – be it children, young and enthusiastic IBAM volunteers or the aged members of our Association. An ever-green, smiling personality , she is dedicated to make IBAM’s activities spectacular and grand.
